Curtiss flying boats collection, 1912-1982.

This collection is a compilation of Robert Friedman's research concerning Curtiss Flying Boats. Friedman, Records Administrator for the City of Alexandria until 1990, gathered information primarily from the federal government, historical societies, and aviation journals. Among the papers are an article about Glenn Curtiss and a copy of his patent for the F-Boat. Also included are papers concerning awards that Curtiss won for this invention. The research notes and most of the correspondence, some dealing with the Navy's use of seaplanes, are Friedman's.
